Machinehead
So it's really cool that the iTunes Music Store released Bush (Figures 120104.a-d) finally last night...I guess it'd taken them a long long time to do it, because I've always tried to buy "The Chemicals Between Us" which is probably my favorite song by them, yet it'd never been there. Finally last night, they released all the Bush cds onto iTunes and I bought "The Chemicals Between Us," "Mouth," and "Swallowed." Angie has the Sixteen Stone cd so I don't need that quite yet, didn't need to buy it online, she's just gonna let me put it on my computer...saweet...

I did buy some more songs besides just Bush last night. I've always been enthralled by techno or electronica music. To me, it's like a modern day classical genre. You don't really have to have words for it to be cool, and you pretty much have to be a musical or technical genius to make it sound good (i said sound good, not actually make it). I bought some tracks from DJ Tiesto (Figure 120104.f at bottom) last night, and i've always been impressed with his work, he did a re-mix of the Super Metroid soundtrack quite some time ago, but that was kinda underground, and more recently he did a few tracks for the Olympic Games, kind of like an alternate soundtrack. The stuff is extremely impressive! His "cover" of "Adagio for Strings" is really pretty sweet. I think some people think it's weird that i can just listen to techno music whenever I want, but like i said earlier, I just see it as another form of classical music, i mean, people just sit and listen to classical right? Yeah ok...
I just realized how much of a freak some people in this cafeteria (I'm at my school) have to think I am sometimes. I mean, Monday I showed up and played my Nintendo DS and listened to my iPod, but today tops it all...I have my Powerbook open, Nokia 3600 Mobile Phone dialing the internet so I can make this post and all while my iPod is going. Why am I listening to my iPod while my Powerbook is right here you ask? Well friends, that's because that way I have one less window open on my computer...yeah, i know i'm a super dork.
I'm really hungry right now and contemplating getting food, but I'm not quite sure if I really should. Our cafeteria is sometimes a bit ghetto...Like one day they'll be serving baked potatoes, then the next potato salad, then the next potatoes au gratin, then the next mashed. I mean seriously, are we recycling food here, cuz that's really gross. The prices are also completely outrageous too...like to get an actual lunch meal it costs close to $6 for slightly mediocre food. I could drive about 2 miles and pick up some Taco Bell and get some seriously gourmet mexican for $4 off the new Taco Bell dollar menu (sorry, can't remember the actual name). This would obviously include the new Carmel Apple Empanada (Figure 120104.e), which is quite possibly the best thing that's ever hit my taste buds. First off, you have a funnel cake batter shell, which tastes slightly similar to the Cinnamon Twist things they have there, yet with more of a subtle hint of the cinnamon. Second you have the baked apples that are in the center, now those are cooked to perfection. And finally, you have the warm and gooey carmel that's melted on the inside, surrounding the Apples, making this quite possibly the best dessert known to man.

Well I'm heading out, looks like some of my friends are making it down to the cafeteria...
PS. if you just so happen to be wearing an iPod, remember that noone else hears the music, except you, cuz it's in your head, which basically means DON'T SING ALOUD, you'll be seriously stared at. It's kinda like those old iPod commercials where you see Chris Rock singing loudly, and he doesn't realize that you can't hear the music, if you haven't seen it, it's really funny. I like the new iPod commercials, but some of them just don't come close to the humor of the old Apple Computer commercials. Example in question: Will Farrell eating a parfait while explaining that Apple Computers are much better than parfaits because with the computer you can listen to music, and email and stuff, while with a parfait alls you can do is eat it and pool it out, and yes my friends, he does actually say "poop it out." Quality television I tell you!
